Rhizogib Orthesis is a medical device for stabilizing the trapezium-metacarpal joint of the thumb, useful in cases of rhizoarthrosis.
Indications
Orthesis for stabilizing the trapezium-metacarpal joint in the functional position of the thumb, maintaining the mobility of the other fingers and the prehensility of the hand. Rigid radial splint for the relative immobilization of the first ray of the hand. Comfortable padded lining. Elastic wrist band and thumb tab with Velcro closure.
The medical device provides thumb stabilization. The medical device provides pain relief and functional improvement in cases of carpometacarpal osteoarthritis.
Directions for use and dosage
Insert your hand into the orthesis so that the splint is aligned with the thumb and the last knuckle is free. Tighten the Hook and Loop fastener on the wrist to obtain firm but comfortable support. Pull the tab with the Hook and Loop fastener around the thumb, so that it passes between the thumb and index finger from the dorsal to the palmar side. Then secure the tab using the Hook and Loop fastener.
To wash: hand wash in warm water with neutral soap or detergent, rinse well, wring out gently, and let dry flat. Do not bleach, do not tumble dry, do not iron, or dry clean.
Warnings

When adjusting the straps, tighten them so that they are firm but comfortable. The brace should not be used if relative or absolute immobilization or surgery is required.
