The Manugib De Quervain Dr. Gibaud Ortho Orthosis is a medical device designed for the functional stabilization of the wrist and thumb, while maintaining the mobility of the other fingers.

Indications

Orthosis for the stabilization of the wrist and thumb in a functional position, while maintaining the mobility of the other fingers and the prehensility of the hand. Rigid and moldable palmar splint for the relative immobilization of the wrist and moldable radial splint for the relative immobilization of the first ray of the hand. Comfortable padded lining. Cushion for the comfort of the palm of the hand. Elastic wrist band and thumb tab with Velcro closure.

The medical device limits the movement of the wrist and thumb.

Directions for use and dosage

Insert your hand into the orthosis so that the palmar splint is aligned with the forearm and the radial splint is aligned with the thumb, and the last knuckle is free. Tighten the Velcro closure on the wrist to provide firm yet comfortable support. Pull the tab with the Hook & Loop closure by wrapping it around your thumb, so that it passes between your thumb and index finger from the dorsal side to the palmar side. Then secure the tab through the Hook & Loop closure.

Do not prolong the use of the product without the advice of your doctor. The product has been designed for use by a single person; do not use it on multiple people. The product should not be used in direct contact with broken skin. If you experience problems using the product, such as the appearance of pain or obvious local signs, remove it and contact a healthcare professional. In the event of a serious accident resulting from the use of this product, contact the manufacturer and your local healthcare provider. When adjusting the straps, tighten them so that they are firm but comfortable. The brace should not be used if relative or absolute immobilization or surgery is required.
