The Dr Gibaud Ortho Manugib Trauma Wrist Thumb Orthosis is an orthosis designed to stabilize the wrist and thumb while maintaining the mobility of the other fingers.

Indications

Orthosis for stabilizing the wrist and thumb in a functional position, maintaining the mobility of the other fingers and prehensility of the hand. Rigid and moldable palmar splint for relative immobilization of the wrist and rigid and moldable radial splint for relative immobilization of the first ray of the hand. Comfortable padded lining. Pad for the comfort of the palm of the hand. Three Velcro closure straps at the forearm, wrist, and hand. Thumb tab with hook-and-loop closure.

Directions for use and dosage

Insert your hand into the orthosis so that the palmar splint is aligned with the forearm and the radial splint is aligned with the thumb, with the last knuckle free. Tighten the hook-and-loop closures on your forearm, wrist, and hand to provide firm yet comfortable support. Pull the hook-and-loop closure tab around your thumb, passing between your thumb and index finger from the dorsal to the palmar side. Then secure the tab through the hook-and-loop closure.
