Indications
Master Aid Disinfectant 1g/100ml is indicated for cleaning and disinfecting damaged skin: superficial wounds, first-degree burns and bedsores with involvement limited to the epidermis.
Ingredients
Active ingredients: 100 ml contain 1g of chlorhexidine digluconate.
Excipients: Citrus essence, purified water.
Directions for use and Dosage
Apply to the affected area an amount of solution appropriate to the extent of the lesion 2-3 times a day.
Do not exceed the recommended doses.
Paediatric population: the The safety and efficacy of this drug in children have not yet been established.
Warnings
The product is for external use only; use, especially if prolonged, of topical products may give rise to sensitization phenomena; in this case, discontinue treatment and initiate appropriate therapy.
Do not use for prolonged treatments; after a short period of treatment without appreciable results, clinical evaluation is necessary.
Avoid contact with eyes.
The product must not come into contact with the brain, meninges, or middle ear, nor penetrate the ear canal in the case of eardrum perforation.
Do not expose the treated area to direct sunlight after applying the product.
Accidental ingestion or inhalation of some disinfectants may cause allergic reactions. may have serious, sometimes fatal, consequences.
Remove all saturated materials, including surgical drapes or gowns.
Use only the amount of product needed and avoid allowing the solution to accumulate in skin folds or under the patient's body or drip onto bed linens or other material in direct contact with the patient.
Where it is necessary to apply occlusive dressings to areas previously exposed to this drug, care should be taken to ensure that no excess product is present before the dressing is applied.
Paediatric population: The use of chlorhexidine solutions, both alcohol-based and aqueous, for skin antisepsis prior to invasive procedures has been associated with chemical burns in neonates.
Based on available reports and published literature, this risk appears to be more serious. high in preterm infants, particularly those born before 32 weeks of gestation and in the first 2 weeks of life.
Important information about some of the excipients: this medicine contains citrus flavoring which contains citral, citronellol, coumarin, farnesol, geraniol, limonene, linalool.
Citral, citronellol, coumarin, farnesol, geraniol, limonene, linalool may cause allergic reactions.
Side effects
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
Interactions
Avoid the simultaneous use of other antiseptics and detergents.
Paediatric population: interaction studies have only been performed in adults.
