Indications and characteristics
Topical silicone gel to prevent scar formation on recently healed wounds and to reduce raised immature scars.
What is Dermatix gel used for? It is used for the treatment and prevention of keloids and hypertrophic scars (for example those resulting from general surgical procedures, traumatic wounds and burns) after complete wound healing and in the presence of an intact skin surface. It is also used for immature, raised, red scars that are actively healing, often up to two years after the wound has closed.
What is Dermatix gel? It is a clear silicone gel that dries quickly and helps maintain normal skin moisture when treating scars from surgery, burns, and other injuries. Dermatix has been shown to flatten, soften, and smooth scars, relieve pain, itching, and related discomfort, and reduce the redness associated with scar tissue. Dermatix gel is easily applied to all skin surfaces, including the face, joints, and parts of the body subject to movement, and dries quickly, forming a transparent "film."
Dermatix was developed using the same long-chain base polymers used in silicone gel films and is available in a tube.

- Wash the affected area and pat dry, as Dermatix® should only be applied to clean, dry skin.
- Carefully spread a small amount of gel over the scar. If you apply too much product, gently remove it with a cloth to avoid staining your clothing.

Apply twice daily, morning and evening, for at least two months. In case of difficult scars, it may be necessary to continue treatment.
