What is BRUFEDOL?

BRUFEDOL is a medicine belonging to the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic drugs (NSAIDs), derived from propionic acid.

What does it look like?

Brufedol comes in the form of coated tablets. The contents of the pack are: of 10 tablets in a blister pack.

Composition

Active ingredient: ibuprofen 400 mg.
Excipients: Microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, lactose, sodium lauryl sulfate, magnesium stearate, Opaspray M-1-7111B White, colloidal anhydrous silica, talc.

When is it used?

Brufedol is used to treat pain of various origins and natures: headache, toothache, neuralgia, muscle and joint pain, menstrual pain. It is an adjuvant in the symptomatic treatment of fever and flu.

When should it not be used?

- Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
- Hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), particularly when hypersensitivity is present. associated with nasal polyposis, angioedema, and/or asthma
- History of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation related to previous active treatments
- History of recurrent peptic ulcer/haemorrhage (two or more distinct episodes of proven ulceration or bleeding)
- Severe hepatic insufficiency
- Severe renal insufficiency
- Severe cardiac insufficiency
- During the third trimester of pregnancy
- Brufedol should not be taken by children under 12 years of age.
- Brufedol should not be administered to patients with clinical conditions that increase the tendency to bleed.

How is it used?

Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age
1 tablet 2 - 4 times a day.
Do not exceed the dose of 1600 mg (4 tablets) in 24 hours.
Elderly
In the treatment of elderly patients, the dosage must be carefully established by the doctor who will have to evaluate a possible reduction of the dosages indicated above.
Patients with renal insufficiency
In the presence of renal insufficiency, elimination may be reduced and the dosage must be adjusted accordingly.
Brufedol must be taken after meals.
Brufedol tablets must be taken with half a glass of water.
