Betadine ® is an antiseptic gel for the treatment of small wounds and skin infections. The active ingredient in Betadine ®, Povidone-Iodine (10% Iodine), is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, fungi, protozoa, yeasts, and some viruses. Povidone-Iodine has the advantage, compared to elemental Iodine, of being water-soluble and less irritating and well-tolerated by the skin and mucous membranes. It is recommended to apply a light layer of gel twice a day directly to the affected area and avoid the simultaneous use of other antiseptics and detergents. Do not use soaps or ointments containing mercury or benzoin compounds on the treated area at the same time. The 100g pack is suitable for disinfecting the whole family.
Important: Betadine® gel provides medicated protection for deep wounds and prevents any dressing from adhering to the wound itself.
