Impregnated Gauzes
Betadine ® gauzes, in the 10x10 cm format, impregnated with an antiseptic solution, are indicated for the treatment of small wounds and skin infections. The active ingredient of Betadine ®, Povidone-Iodine (10% Iodine), is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, fungi, protozoa, yeasts, and some viruses. Povidone-Iodine has the advantage, compared to elemental Iodine, of being water-soluble and less irritating and well-tolerated by the skin and mucous membranes. 1 to 3 gauzes can be applied per day.
Avoid the simultaneous use of other antiseptics and detergents. Do not use soaps or ointments containing mercury or benzoin compounds on the treated area at the same time.
Important: Betadine® gauze combines antiseptic action with physical protection of the wound.
