Indications
Aquacel Foam is themulti-layered adhesive dressing in hydrocellular polyurethane foam with a honeycomb structure, accompanied by a thin layer of hydrofiber in contact with the wound bed, an external polyurethane film and a silicone adhesive border (hypoallergenic).
The polyurethane layer with mixed cells is highly hydrophilic, absorbent, exudate-retaining and breathable.
The Hydrofiber Technology layer in direct contact with the wound bed allows Aquacel Foam to actively interact with the wound itself, instantly forming a soft gel that maintains the moist environment and retains exudate, promoting healing and reducing the risk of maceration of the periwound skin.
The breathable external film promotes the transmission of vapors and gases and creates an impermeable barrier to fluids and bacteria that protects the wound from external contamination. The silicone adhesive border is extremely gentle to remove, thin and repositionable.
Aquacel Foam is indicated for use on low to medium exuding wounds on:
- Traumatic wounds: small abrasions, lacerations and small cuts.
- Chronic wounds: leg ulcers (venous ulcers, arterial ulcers and ulcers of mixed etiology), diabetic ulcers, partial and full thickness pressure ulcers.
- Acute wounds: surgical wounds (left to heal by secondary intention) and donor sites.
- Oncological wounds: highly exuding wounds (skin fungal tumors, skin metastases and sarcoma).

Directions for use
Choose a dressing of a shape and size such that the central absorbent pad is larger than the wound area.
Align the center of the dressing with the center of the wound and place the central pad of the dressing directly over the wound. The dressing should be changed when clinically indicated or when it is saturated with exudate; in any case, no later than after 7 days of stay in place.
Aquacel Foam can be used as a primary or secondary dressing. can be used as a primary dressing, or secondary in combination with other products.
Components
Sterile dressing composed of: an external waterproof polyurethane film, a layer of hydrophilic polyurethane with a thickness of 2.5 mm, density of around 300 g/m2 and cell size of 200-300 microns, an absorbent layer of non-woven fibers composed of pure sodium carboxymethyl cellulose in gelling fibers (NaCMC) surrounded by a thin and delicate silicone adhesive border.
Sterilization method
Sterilized by ethylene oxide.
Storage
Protect from light sources, store in a dry place at room temperature (10°C - 25°C). Shelf life in years: 3. Maximum time in situ: 7 days.
