AQUACEL™ foam dressing combines the comfort and simplicity of foam with the benefits of Hydrofiber™ Technology.

Indications

Aquacel® Foam dressings can be used, in consultation with a healthcare professional, for the management of exuding and non-exuding wounds, and for the protection of intact skin. Aquacel® Foam dressing can be included in a comprehensive care protocol to protect intact skin from the risk of laceration. Aquacel® Foam dressings can be used as a primary or secondary dressing.

Aquacel® Foam is indicated for the treatment of:

• Ulcers of the lower limbs;
• Decubitus ulcers;
• Diabetic foot ulcers;
• Surgical wounds;
• Partial thickness burns;
• Traumatic injuries.

Components

Sterile dressing composed of: an external waterproof polyurethane film, a layer of hydrophilic polyurethane with a thickness of 2.5 mm with a density of around 300 g/m2 and a cell size of 200-300 microns, an absorbent layer of non-woven fibres composed of pure sodium carboxymethylcellulose in gelling fibres (NaCMC) surrounded by a thin and delicate silicone adhesive border.

Sterilisation method: Sterilised by ethylene oxide.

Directions for use

1. Choose the appropriate dressing:
   • Use a dressing with a central absorbent pad that is larger than the wound area.
2. Placement of the dressing:
   • Align the centre of the dressing with the centre of the wound;
   • Place the central pad of the dressing directly over the wound.
3. Changing the dressing:
   • Change the dressing when clinically indicated or when it is saturated with exudate;
   • Do not leave the dressing in place for more than 1 hour. 7 days.
4. Use of AQUACEL Foam:
   • AQUACEL Foam can be used as a primary dressing.
   • It can also be used as a secondary dressing in combination with other products.

Storage

Protect from light, store in a dry place at room temperature (10°C - 25°C).
Shelf life in years: 3.
Maximum time in situ: 7 days.
