Indications

Aquacel Ag Foam has a silicone adhesive edge that is extremely gentle to remove, thin and repositionable. It is a multi-layered aseptic dressing made of hydrocellular polyurethane foam with a honeycomb structure, composed of an external polyurethane film and a thin layer of Hydrofiber Technology in contact with the wound bed, with 1.2% silver ions by weight.
The Hydrofiber Technology layer in direct contact with the wound bed allows it to actively interact with the wound, vertically absorbing the exudate, retaining it and instantly forming a soft gel, which maintains the optimal moist environment and promotes healing, reducing the risk of maceration of the periwound skin. The presence of ionic silver guarantees the dressing a broad-spectrum, rapid and long-lasting antimicrobial activity, without being cytotoxic or irritating.
The breathable external film promotes the permeability of vapors and gases but at the same time creates an impermeable barrier to fluids and bacteria, protecting the wound from external contamination. 

Instructions for use

1. Do not use the device if the packaging is damaged or has been opened before use and dispose of it according to local regulations;
2. Before applying the dressing, clean the wound area with an appropriate wound cleanser and dry the surrounding skin.

Dressing preparation and application

1. Remove the dressing from the sterile packaging, avoid touching the surface in contact with the wound and the adhesive surface, if applicable;
2. Remove the protective coating in the case of the version adhesive;
3. The dressing can be cut to size for convenience;
4. Place the dressing over the wound and align the center of the dressing with the center of the wound;
5. Place the pad directly over the wound;
6. If the dressing is adhesive, smooth out the adhesive edge.
7. Avoid stretching the dressing during application: if the dressing is adhesive, press down the adhesive edge;
8. Ensure that the joints are sufficiently flexed to allow the patient's mobility.
9. After placing the dressing on the wound, discard any unused portions of the product.

Dressing Removal

1. The dressing should be replaced when clinically indicated (e.g. in case of leakage, bleeding, increased pain);
2. The maximum recommended application time does not exceed 7 days;
3. The wound should be cleaned at appropriate intervals.

Storage

Store at room temperature (10°C - 25°C). Store in a dry place. Protect from light.
