Allevyn Gentle Border is a sterile adhesive dressing made of hydrocellular polyurethane foam with a gentle gel adhesive, designed for the safe and comfortable management of exuding wounds and for use on fragile skin.
Indications
Sterile, borderless adhesive dressing made of hydrocellular polyurethane foam with a gentle gel adhesive. The Allevyn Gentle Border dressing is designed to manage exuding wounds with maximum safety and comfort, to prevent exudate from impeding the normal healing process. Allevyn Gentle Border optimizes the wound environment, allowing: faster healing; rapid healing, a reduction in the risk of maceration, intimate contact between the dressing and the wound bed and effective protection from external contaminants. These clinical results are achievable by virtue of several peculiar factors such as: the unique triple-action sandwich structure with joined and shaped edges and the ability Best-in-class fluid management among polyurethane foams.
Secondary intention management of chronic and acute wounds, full-thickness, partial-thickness, or superficial, granulating, exuding, such as: pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, infected wounds, diabetic foot ulcers, oncological lesions, surgical wounds, first- and second-degree burns, donor sites, pathologically hyperproliferating wounds. ALLEVYN Gentle Border is indicated for use on fragile skin.
Directions for use: Instructions for use and dosage
Application
Select the most appropriate dressing format. Prepare the wound according to current protocol. Apply the dressing with the white side facing up to the wound and smooth the edges. Allevyn Gentle Border can be used under an elastic compression bandage (e.g., PROFORE*) or in combination with INTRASITE* Gel for wounds with dry or moist necrotic tissue (slough).
Removal
Lift one corner of the dressing and slowly pull back until completely detached.
Dressing change frequency
Allevyn Gentle Border can remain in place for up to 7 days (depending on the wound condition and current clinical protocols), ensuring optimal exudate management during this period. It can be used under a compression bandage (e.g., PROFORE*) or in combination with INTRASITE* Gel for wounds with dry or moist necrotic tissue (slough).

Allevyn Gentle Border can remain in place for up to 7 days (depending on the wound condition and current clinical protocols), ensuring optimal exudate management during this period. Leave in place until exudate approaches 1.5 cm from the edge of the dressing.
Warnings
Do not use oxidizing agents such as hypochlorite solution or hydrogen peroxide, which may damage the foam structure. If skin redness or sensitivity occurs, discontinue treatment.
