Indications
Allevyn Adhesive, with its unique triple-layer structure, has been designed to achieve this combination, ensuring optimal fluid management to aid moist wound healing. The dressing is cost-effective and specifically designed for the management of acute or chronic exudative wounds.
Allevyn Adhesive dressings are indicated for the secondary intention management of:
- Superficial, granulating wounds
- Chronic and acute exuding wounds
- Full-thickness or partial-thickness wounds such as: pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers
- Tumor lesions
- Surgical wounds
- First and second degree burns
- Donor sites
- Hyperproliferating skin ulcers
- Oncological lesions
- Epidermolysis bullosa wounds
Allevyn Adhesive can be used on infected wounds. If the product is used on infected wounds, the infection must be monitored and treated according to local clinical protocol.
Directions for use and Dosage
Prepare, cleanse and dry the periwound skin. Remove the protective paper and secure the dressing, place the dressing on the wound, completely removing the protective film: ensure that the edges are well adhered to the skin surrounding the wound. At the beginning of treatment, Allevyn Adhesive should be checked frequently. The dressing can be left in place for up to 7 days depending on the amount of exudate. To remove the dressings, lift one corner and remove by pulling in the opposite direction, then roll the dressing on itself. To facilitate the removal of adhesive dressings, it is necessary to use a tamper-evident adhesive. You can use sterile water, saline solution, or Remove wipes.
