Mallow is a plant typical of the Mediterranean area that grows spontaneously in meadows and fields up to 1,300 meters above sea level. Its name derives from the Latin word mollire, which means to soften, and in fact mallow has been known since Roman times for its emollient, hydrating and calming properties.
