More than just a perfume, Shalimar L'Essence is an olfactory declaration of love. Delphine Jelk, Guerlain Creative Director of Fragrances and Perfumer, wanted to honor the icon of the House's heritage by highlighting its most emblematic note and the cornerstone of its trail: Vanilla.
For this creation, Delphine Jelk added the precious Madagascar Vanilla Tincture, produced according to Guerlain's ancestral savoir-faire, to Jacques Guerlain's historic Ethyl Vanilla. This enrichment gives Shalimar a new, profound intensity while maintaining its unmistakable olfactory signature.
The composition opens with a discreet and luminous Bergamot, which illuminates a floral heart where Rose Absolute blends with the powdery elegance of Iris. Subsequently, Shalimar Amber reveals itself with a profound depth. The fragrance is unique, while vanilla, used abundantly, infuses the fragrance with smooth, woody, and slightly leathery facets.
Shalimar's iconic Art Deco bottle is reinterpreted with a bold, graphic logo, whose golden lettering recalls the perfume's preciousness.
