It is indicated for the dietary management of Chronic Renal Failure (CRF), for the dietary management of phenylketonuria, and for the dietary management of Parkinson's disease (in therapy with Levodopa). Its composition makes it suitable for all three categories of patients.
In particular:
- The product has been specially formulated with ingredients with a reduced protein, sodium, phosphorus and potassium content to meet the nutritional needs of patients suffering from Chronic Kidney Failure.
- The composition also features a reduced phenylalanine intake for the dietary management of subjects with Phenylketonuria.
- Thanks to a limited protein content, it is Also suitable for the dietary management of patients with Parkinson's disease treated with Levodopa, as it does not interfere with the absorption of this amino acid.
For patients treated with Levodopa, the degree of any dysphagia and any malnutrition problems that may arise under protein restriction must be assessed.
