Indications

Dried licorice root is digestive and anti-inflammatory for the stomach thanks to the presence of glycyrrhetic acid and flavonoids, which increase mucosal secretion, simultaneously providing a soothing and healing effect in cases of inflammation. It is therefore indicated for gastritis and ulcers. Other properties of licorice are: emollient, slightly laxative, and antihypertensive because it causes water and sodium retention and potassium loss. É therefore not recommended for hypertensives.
