Onion-shaped night corrective orthosis for hallux valgus

Features

Wearing the EPITACT® night corrective orthosis daily helps correct the deformity and limit the progression of hallux valgus. It helps relieve nighttime joint pain and eliminates contact pain.

Directions for use

• First, check that the big toe can still move laterally when manipulated. Otherwise, do not use this device.
• The orthosis can be thermoformed on either the right or left foot.
• During the first 3 applications, it is recommended to wear the orthosis for only 2 hours.
• During subsequent uses, wear the orthosis all night.
  During the first few uses, you may experience joint pain. If this persists for more than 7 nights, consult your doctor.
• After using the orthosis for a month and if there is no pain, a second thermoforming can be performed to increase the correction (see the thermoforming instructions provided). The desired correction will then be achieved without a spreader, but by pulling the big toe laterally (see the diagram opposite).

Thermoforming

Follow the thermoforming instructions provided. The corrective night orthosis can be thermoformed multiple times. If necessary, consult a podiatrist.

Positioning

• Insert the forefoot into the large strap.
• Then insert the big toe into the small sleeve.
• Make sure the white target is positioned at the level of the "onion" (see the diagram in the thermoforming instructions provided). 

Maintenance

• Machine wash at 40°C in the provided mesh or by hand (do not rub).
• Allow to dry naturally. Do not iron. Do not expose to heat (>50°C).

Contraindications

• Big toe not mobile laterally.
• Do not use the product during the day.
• The device has been subjected to all the required tests in accordance with the ISO 10993-1 standard.
In case of an adverse reaction, stop using the device immediately and inform Millet Innovation.
• Do not apply to unprotected lesions.
• Do not use in cases of diabetes, arteritis, polyneuritis, neuropathy of the lower limbs, or ulcers.

20% silicone, 28% polyamide/elastane, 52% thermoformable plastic.
