Product Description

CE Class I medical device, recommended for the topical treatment of fingernail and toenail fungus. Thanks to its 40% urea-based composition, Onyster weakens only the diseased parts of the nail (due to the fungus), which ensure the nail's adhesion to the nail bed. This weakening allows for the selective detachment of the diseased part of the nail, facilitating its cutting and subsequent removal, in preparation for subsequent antifungal treatment.

Directions for use

Apply the amount of ointment needed to cover the entire surface to the infected nail once a day. Protect with an occlusive dressing for 24 hours.
Repeat the application of the ointment and replace the dressing every day, after removing the excess ointment from the previous application. Depending on the extent of the infection and the thickness of the nail, 1 to 3 weeks of treatment are required.
After 1-3 weeks of treatment, it is recommended to consult a healthcare professional to have the softened and detached part of the nail cut with nail scissors. Once the infected part of the nail has been removed, the antifungal treatment should be continued.

Warnings

Do not use if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to any of the components. In the absence of data, it is preferable not to use Onyster in combination with other topical products. Do not use the product without consulting a healthcare professional. In case of hypersensitivity (allergy) reaction, discontinue use and inform your doctor. Do not ingest. Do not use on broken skin. Wash hands after use. Do not apply near the eyes or on mucous membranes. The patches are for single use only and should not be reused. Do not use if the package is damaged or if, upon first opening, the tube is missing the protective cap. Keep out of reach of children.

Possible side effects

This medical device may cause side effects in some individuals: redness, irritation, maceration, flaking (formation of small scales that detach from the skin surface), possibility of allergy, dry skin.
