Product Description

Ectoparasiticides for topical use.

Indications

Fleas: Treatment and prevention of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis and Ctenocephalides canis). The treatment prevents flea infestation for one month. It also prevents the multiplication of fleas
for two months after application by inhibiting the hatching of eggs (ovicidal activity) and inhibiting the
emergence of adults from eggs laid by adult fleas (larvicidal activity).
Ticks: The veterinary medicinal product has persistent acaricidal efficacy and repellent action against tick infestations (Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Ixodes ricinus for one month and Dermacentor reticulatus for up to three
weeks).
If ticks are present when the veterinary medicinal product is applied, they may not all be
killed within the first 48 hours but may die within a week.
To remove ticks, the use of a special tick removal device is recommended.
Sandflies, mosquitoes, and flies: The treatment provides persistent repellent (anti-feeding) activity. It prevents bites from sandflies (Phlebotomus perniciosus), mosquitoes (Culex pipiens, Aedes aegypti), and flies (Stomoxys calcitrans) for one month after application.
The treatment also provides persistent insecticidal activity for one month against mosquitoes (Aedes aegypti) and flies (Stomoxys calcitrans).

Spot-on solution.
Clear yellow solution.

Composition

Active ingredients

Each ml contains 54 mg of dinotefuran, 4.84 mg of pyriproxyfen and 397 mg of permethrin.
Each spot-on applicator dispenses:

Excipients

N-octyl-2-pyrrolidone, N-methylpyrrolidone.

Directions for use and Dosage

Dosage: the minimum recommended dose is 6.4 mg dinotefuran/kg body weight, 0.6 mg pyriproxyfen/kg body weight and 46.6 mg permethrin/kg body weight, equivalent to 0.12 ml of the veterinary medicinal product per kg of body weight.
The following table shows the size of the spot-on applicator to be used based on the weight of the dog:

Method and route of administration
Spot-on. 1 applicator per dog.
Take care to apply the veterinary medicinal product only to intact (not broken) skin of the dog.
How to apply:
Remove the spot-on applicator from the packaging.

Step 1: Hold the applicator upright by placing your fingers under the larger disc
as indicated.
Step 2: With your other hand, press down on the smaller disc until the two discs fit together evenly. This will puncture the applicator seal.
Step 3: Your dog should be standing or in a comfortable position for easy application. Part the fur to expose the skin.
Apply the product (as indicated in step 4 below) slowly with the rounded end of the applicator to the skin.
Step 4:
Use according to recommendations 4a or 4b:

• Recommendation 4a: Gently squeeze the applicator and apply the veterinary medicinal product
  to the skin along the dog's back, starting at the shoulders between the shoulder blades, with a number of applications and sequence as illustrated in the figures below and pressing until the applicator is empty.
  Avoid superficial application to the dog's coat. The number of applications will depend on the weight of the dog.
  
  • Dogs from 1.5 to 4 kg body weight 1 yellow pipette per dog.
  • Dogs weighing more than 4 kg and up to 10 kg 1 green pipette per dog to be divided into 2 applications.
  • Dogs weighing more than 10 kg and up to 40 kg 1 blue or purple pipette per dog to be divided into 3 applications.
  • Dogs weighing more than 40 kg 1 red pipette per dog to be divided into 4 applications.
  • Recommendation 4b: Regardless of the weight of the dog, using the rounded end of the applicator, part the hair at the base of the tail. and begin by applying the product directly
    to the skin in a continuous line from the base of the tail along the centre of the back to the
    shoulder blades, as shown in the figure, pressing the applicator until it is empty.
    Following a single application, the veterinary medicinal product will prevent infestation for one month.
    The treatment can be repeated once a month.

  Warnings

  All dogs in the household should be treated.
  Household cats should only be treated with a veterinary medicinal product authorised for use in that species.
  Fleas may infest the dog's basket, bed and usual resting areas such as carpets and
  sofas and armchairs.
  In case of heavy flea infestation and at the beginning of control measures, these areas should be treated with an appropriate insecticide and then vacuumed regularly.
  If dermatitis (itching and skin irritation) is suspected, seek veterinary advice.

  Contraindications

  Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to one or more active substances or to any of the excipients.
  Do not use on cats.
  Due to their particular physiology and inability to metabolise permethrin, this veterinary medicinal product should not be used on cats.
  If applied to a cat, or ingested by a cat that has actively rubbed on a recently treated dog, this veterinary medicinal product may cause serious eye irritation. cause serious harmful reactions.

  Interactions

  None known.

  Undesirable effects

  Erythema, itching or other transient signs of discomfort at the application site have been reported very rarely (less than 1 animal in 10,000 animals, including isolated reports) and usually disappear spontaneously within 24 hours after administration of the product.
  Gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhoea have also been reported very rarely.
  Transient aesthetic effects (greasy appearance, ruffled fur and accumulations) at the application site have been reported very rarely, however these effects are usually no longer present. visible after 48 hours.

  Overdose

  Overdose (symptoms, emergency procedures, antidotes), if necessary
  With the exception of erythema and changes in the appearance of the coat, no adverse reactions were observed
  in healthy puppies aged 7 weeks, treated topically 7 times at intervals of 2 weeks
  and up to 5 times the maximum recommended dosage.
  In case of accidental ingestion at the maximum recommended dosage, vomiting,
  salivation and diarrhoea may occur, which should however disappear without treatment.

  Pregnancy and lactation

  The safety of the veterinary medicinal product in bitches has not been established during pregnancy and
  lactation.
  The use of the veterinary medicinal product in pregnant and lactating bitches or in dogs intended for breeding should be based on a benefit/risk assessment by the responsible veterinarian.
  Laboratory studies with each of the components, dinotefuran, pyriproxyfen or permethrin, in rats and
  rabbits have not shown maternotoxic, teratogenic or foetotoxic effects.
  Dinotefuran has been shown to cross the blood-mammary barrier and is excreted in milk.
  N-methylpyrrolidone, an excipient of the veterinary medicinal product, has shown teratogenicity in laboratory
  animals.

  Storage

  This veterinary medicinal product does not require any special storage conditions.
