Characteristics
Advantix Spot-on antiparasitic for dogs has a specific and effective action for the treatment and prevention of flea, lice and larvae infestations.
Each pipette of Advantix provides repellent activity against:
- Eliminates fleas (treatment and prevention); can be used for: be used as part of the treatment strategy for flea allergy dermatitis (FAD).
- Eliminates lice.
- Repels and eliminates ticks, reducing the risk of transmission of CVBDs (diseases such as borreliosis, rickettsiosis and ehrlichiosis).
- Repels mosquitoes and sandflies, reducing the risk of transmission of CVBDs (diseases such as leishmaniasis).
- Repels horseflies, contributing to the prevention of fly bite dermatitis.
Composition
Active ingredients: 600mg imidacloprid, 3000mg permethrin.
How to use
Advantix® It is contained in single-dose pipettes for easy application:
Divide the contents of the pipette into one or more points between the shoulder blades and the base of the tail.
Make the skin visible: Part the coat to make the skin visible. Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and squeeze a portion onto each application point. Do not apply an excessive amount of product to any one point, to avoid it running down the animal's sides.
Empty completely: At the end of the application, check that the pipette has been completely emptied. Dogs weighing more than 10 kg should be treated at four points.
The minimum recommended dose is as follows: 10 mg/kg body weight (Imidacloprid) and 50 mg/kg body weight (Permethrin).
Warnings
Clear yellowish to brownish spot-on solution.
For the treatment and prevention of flea infestations (C. canis, C. felis) and for the treatment of lice (Trichodectes canis) in dogs.
Fleas on dogs are killed within one day of treatment.
One treatment prevents further flea infestation for four weeks.
The product can be used for up to 1 year. be used as part of a treatment strategy for flea allergy dermatitis (FAD).
The product has persistent acaricidal and repellent activity against tick infestations (Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Ixodes ricinus for four weeks, and Dermacentor reticulatus for three weeks).
Ticks already present on the dog may not be killed within two days after treatment and may remain attached and visible.
It is therefore recommended to remove ticks already present on the dog at the time of treatment, in order to prevent them from attaching and taking a blood meal.
One treatment provides repellent (anti-feeding) activity against sandflies (Phlebotomus papatasi for two weeks and Phlebotomus perniciosus for three weeks), against mosquitoes (Aedes aegypti for two weeks and Culex pipiens for four weeks) and against horseflies. (Stomoxys calcitrans) for four weeks. Do not use on cats:Advantix is extremely toxic to cats and may be fatal due to the unique physiology of cats, which are unable to metabolize certain compounds, including permethrin. To prevent cats from being accidentally exposed to the product, keep treated dogs away from cats until the application sites are dry.
It is important to ensure that cats cannot lick the application site of a dog that has been treated with this product. If this occurs, consult a veterinarian immediately.
