Cream for fungus and skin mycoses.
Indications
Trosyd is an antifungal ointment for the treatment of skin mycoses, i.e. skin infections caused by dermatophytes, yeasts, and other fungi that affect the skin. These fungi actually already live on the skin, without causing pathologies; in certain conditions, however, they can become pathogenic and cause skin inflammation, which is easily contagious.
Trosyd Benefits
Tioconazole, the active ingredient present in the Trosyd cream in a 1% concentration, has a broad spectrum of action and is indicated for the treatment of yeasts, dermatophytes, Gram-positive bacteria sensitive to the drug, and onychomycosis caused by dermatophytes and yeasts. The benefits of Trosyd cream are therefore both fungicidal and antibacterial.
Composition
Trosyd Dermatological Cream contains:
- Active ingredient: Tioconazole 10 mg
- Excipients: polysorbate 60, sorbitan monostearate, cetostearyl alcohol, 2-octyldodecanol, cetyl ester wax, benzyl alcohol, purified water.
Dosage and Directions for Use
Trosyd Fungal Cream is indicated for use on localized, hairless areas, in the case of scaly and dry lesions. The ointment is applied with a light massage twice a day, morning and evening, on the skin affected by mycosis and on the immediately surrounding area. In skin folds, the cream should be applied in small quantities and spread well, to avoid maceration.
A 7-day treatment is usually sufficient to achieve healing in most patients with Pityriasis versicolor (a fungal infection that manifests itself with café-au-lait-colored spots, usually located on the trunk), while up to 6 weeks of treatment may be necessary in the case of severe forms of Tinea pedis (athlete's foot), especially with regard to the chronic hyperkeratotic clinical variety.
The duration of treatment required for dermatophyte infections in other locations, Candidiasis and Erythrasma is usually between 2 and 4 weeks.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
Special warnings
The application of topical products, especially if prolonged, may give rise to sensitization phenomena.
