Trosyd® 1% Tioconazole Skin Emulsion is an antifungal drug.

Indications

Trosyd® 1% Tioconazole Skin Emulsion is indicated for the treatment of skin mycoses caused by dermatophyte fungi, yeasts and other skin fungi.

Trosyd® Emulsion owes its action to Tioconazole, an active ingredient present in the product at a 1% concentration, whose broad spectrum of action allows it to eradicate both yeasts and dermatophytes (or other fungi), as well as Gram-positive bacteria sensitive to the drug.

The dual fungicidal and antibacterial action of Tioconazole (also suitable for nails and therefore also the basis of Trosyd® products for onychomycosis) therefore allows for the rapid elimination of fungi and bacteria, as well as reducing the risk of recurrence.

How to use

The product Trosyd® Emulsion should be applied by lightly massaging twice a day, morning and evening, on the skin affected by mycosis and the immediate surrounding area. It is advisable to massage the medicine with your fingertips or with a cotton swab.

The duration of treatment with Tioconazole required to achieve healing varies from patient to patient and depends on the infectious agent and the site of infection.

A 7-day treatment is usually sufficient to achieve healing in most patients with Pityriasis versicolor (a fungal infection that manifests itself with café-au-lait-colored spots, generally located on the trunk), while up to 6 weeks of treatment may be necessary in the case of severe forms of Tinea Pedis, especially the hyperkeratotic clinical variety.

The duration of treatment required for dermatophyte infections and other localized candidiasis and erythema is usually between 2 and 4 weeks.
