Interactions

Inform your doctor if you are taking this medicine and are taking:

- medicines containing paracetamol. During treatment with paracetamol, before taking or giving your child any other medicine, check that it does not contain paracetamol, as serious side effects can occur if paracetamol is taken in high doses;
- medicines that slow stomach emptying (e.g. anticholinergics, opioids), as these medicines delay the effect of Tachipirina;
- medicines that accelerate stomach emptying (e.g. prokinetics), as these medicines accelerate the effect of Tachipirina;
- cholestyramine (a medicine used to reduce blood cholesterol levels), as it reduces the effect of paracetamol;
- chloramphenicol (an antibiotic), as it can increase the risk of side effects;
- anticoagulants. In the case of high-dose treatments with paracetamol (4 g per day for at least 4 days), take or administer Tachipirina only under strict medical supervision;

- cimetidine (a medicine used to treat stomach ulcers);

The use of these medicines with Tachipirina requires close medical supervision.

If the person taking the medicine needs to have blood tests, it should be noted that paracetamol administration may interfere with the measurement of uric acid and blood sugar levels.

Tachipirina during pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, or are breastfeeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. Although studies conducted during pregnancy and breastfeeding have not revealed any particular contraindications to the use of paracetamol or any adverse effects on the mother or child, it is recommended to take this medicine only when strictly necessary and under the direct supervision of a doctor.
