Product Description

Saline solution for fluid and sodium chloride replacement.

Directions for use

Administer intravenously. The dose depends on age, weight, clinical conditions, electrolyte status and osmolarity, and is related to the calculated sodium deficit.

Storage

In hermetically sealed containers. Do not freeze. The expiry date refers to the product in its intact packaging, stored correctly. Do not use after this date.  

Contraindications

Contraindicated in patients with hypernatremia and in hydrosaline plethoras.  

Warnings

Use immediately after opening the container. The solution must be clear, colorless, and free of visible particles. It is intended for a single, uninterrupted administration; any residue cannot be used.

Use with great caution in patients with congestive heart failure, severe renal insufficiency, and in clinical conditions involving edema with salt retention, and in patients being treated with corticosteroids or corticotropins. Continuous administration without additional potassium may cause hypokalemia. Monitor fluid balance and electrolytes. Safety and efficacy have not been established in children.  

Side effects

Febrile reactions, infections at the injection site, venous thrombosis or phlebitis. In case of adverse reaction, discontinue administration and retain the untreated portion for possible tests.  

Pregnancyand breastfeeding

Administer only if strictly necessary.
