Product Description

Cloperastine-based syrup to sedate dry cough.

Indications

Seki is a syrup for dry cough suitable for adults and children over two years of age, characterized by a double effect:

• it acts centrally, inhibiting the urge to cough;
• it acts peripherally, relaxing the bronchial muscles involved in coughing.

Its active ingredient, Cloperastine, has no narcotic or local anesthetic activity.

Dosage and Directions for Use

The Seki cough syrup has a measuring cup with dosages for adults and children, one mark corresponds to 7.5 ml, two marks correspond to 15 ml.

The recommended dosage is:

• for adults, 15 ml in the evening before bedtime, 7.5 ml in the morning and 7.5 ml in the afternoon;
• for children over two years old, 7.5 ml in the evening before bedtime, 3.75 ml in the morning and 3.75 ml in the afternoon.

For a cough-free night's rest, we recommend double dosage, which does not depress the respiratory center and improves the quality of sleep.

Ingredients

Ingredient active ingredient: cloperastine phendiozoate. 00 ml contain 354 mg of cloperastine phendiozoate equivalent to 180 mg of cloperastine.

Other ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, sodium carmellose, polyoxyl-40-stearate, sucrose, methyl-para-hydroxybenzoate, propyl-para-hydroxybenzoate, banana essence, purified water.

The product does not contain gluten.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.

Warnings and precautions

Important information about some of the excipients:

• Sucrose: The syrup contains 450 mg of sucrose per ml. Patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption, or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency should not take this medicine. Patients with diabetes or those on a low-calorie diet should be aware that the preparation contains sugar. The syrup also contains parahydroxybenzoates (E218 and E216), which may cause allergic reactions, including delayed reactions.

Interactions

No interaction studies have been conducted in humans. The concomitant use of Seki with alcohol, antihistamines, anticholinergics, and sedatives is not recommended in either adult or child patients. It is not known whether the extent of the interactions reported above is similar in pediatric age to that in adults. There is no information regarding possible interactions of the drug with laboratory tests. There is no information available regarding the interaction of cloperastine with food, therefore taking it during meals is not recommended.
