Active ingredients

100 ml of solution contain: Active ingredients: sodium cromoglicate g 4 d,l-chlorphenamine maleate g 0.2 Excipients methyl p-hydroxybenzoate mg 100 propyl p-hydroxybenzoate mg 20 For the full list of excipients, see section 6.1.

Excipients

Sodium phosphate, monosodium sodium phosphate monohydrate, methyl p-hydroxybenzoate, sodium edetate, propyl p-hydroxybenzoate, distilled water.

Therapeutic indications

Rinofrenal is indicated for the treatment of the symptoms of the acute phase of Seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or to any of the excipients.

Dosage

1-2 sprays per nostril 3-4 times a day; do not exceed the recommended doses. Once the acute rhinitis symptoms have resolved, it is advisable to continue treatment with a preparation containing only sodium cromoglicate to prevent the recurrence of symptoms.

Warnings and precautions

If the preparation is taken in high doses, systemic antihistamine effects may occur (see also “Undesirable effects”). The specialty should be used with caution in the elderly, in subjects with a history of prostatic hypertrophy and glaucoma, as well as in cases of stenosing peptic ulcer and bladder neck obstruction. Use with caution also in cases of hepatic insufficiency. Caution: Rinofrenal 4% + 0.2% nasal spray, solution contains methyl p-hydroxybenzoate and propyl p-hydroxybenzoate which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed).

Not known.

Undesirable effects

Although No such side effects have occurred with RINOFRENAL to date. However, it should be noted that following the administration of sodium cromoglicate powder by inhalation, some side effects have been reported, such as: nonspecific irritation of the upper airways, commonly consisting of pharyngeal tickling, cough, and transient bronchospasm episodes that subside promptly and can be prevented by the administration of bronchodilators. Systemic antihistamine effects, such as sedation and drowsiness, may occur when taking high doses. Very rarely, side effects have been described, including nausea, headache, urticaria, angioedema, myalgia, arthralgia, pulmonary eosinophilic infiltrates, and intense bronchospasm episodes that may occur at the beginning or during therapy. These symptoms require treatment suspension.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

In pregnant women, the product should be administered only if necessary and under medical supervision.
