Indications

Rinazina Nasal Spray is an over-the-counter decongestant based on naphazoline, a molecule ideal for acute catarrhal rhinitis and pharyngitis, allergic rhinitis, acute sinusitis, and colds. The spray helps clear a stuffy nose, providing rapid and long-lasting relief.

Rinazina nasal spray acts as a vasoconstrictor, reducing swelling of the nasal mucosa and allowing greater airflow through the nose, providing a rapid and long-lasting decongestant effect.

Composition

• Active ingredients: naphazoline nitrate 1 mg, equivalent to naphazoline 9.77 mg.
• Excipients: sodium chloride, disodium edetate, sodium phosphate monobasic dihydrate, concentrated phosphoric acid, benzalkonium chloride, balsamic flavoring, purified water.

Directions for use and Dosage

When using for the first time, press the dispenser two or three times to fill the pump, but Without inserting the spray into the nostrils.

Then hold the bottle in a vertical position, inserting the tip of the dispenser into the nostril after blowing your nose, pressing quickly and firmly while inhaling. The usual dose is 1-3 sprays in each nostril, 2-3 times a day.

Contraindications Rinazina Nasal Spray

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. Severe heart disease and arterial hypertension. Glaucoma. Hyperthyroidism. The medicine is contraindicated in children under 12 years of age. Do not administer during and within two weeks of treatment with antidepressants.

Warnings and Precautions

Use with caution in the elderly and in those with prostatic hypertrophy due to the risk of urinary retention. In patients with cardiovascular disease, especially those with hypertension, the use of nasal decongestants should be subject to a physician's discretion. Prolonged use of vasoconstrictors can alter the normal function of the nasal and sinus mucosa, possibly leading to drug tolerance. Repeated use over a long period of time may be harmful. Benzalkonium chloride (BAC), contained as a preservative in RINAZINA nasal drops and nasal spray, especially when used for long periods, can cause swelling of the nasal mucosa. If this reaction is suspected (persistent nasal congestion), a nasal medication without a BAC should be used, if possible. If such nasal medications without a BAC are unavailable, another dosage form should be considered. It may cause bronchospasm. Use of topical products, especially if prolonged, may result in sensitization. In such cases, treatment should be discontinued and, if necessary, appropriate therapy instituted. Rare cases of posterior reversible encephalopathy/reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome have been reported with the use of sympathomimetic drugs, which include naphazoline. Reported symptoms include sudden onset of severe headache, nausea, vomiting, and visual disturbances. Most cases improve or resolve within a few days following appropriate treatment. Use of naphazoline should be discontinued immediately and a doctor should be consulted if signs and/or symptoms of posterior reversible encephalopathy/reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome occur.

Interactions

The drug may interact with antidepressants.

Side effects

The product may cause local rebound sensitization and mucosal congestion. Due to rapid absorption of naphazoline through inflamed mucous membranes, systemic effects may occur, including arterial hypertension, reflex bradycardia, headache, and urinary disturbances.

Rinazina Nasal Spray in Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, Rinazina Nasal Spray should be used only after consulting your doctor and evaluating the individual risk/benefit ratio.
