Product Description

Antihemorrhoidal drugs for topical use based on corticosteroids.

Indications

Proctosoll is a cream for the symptomatic treatment of uncomplicated external hemorrhoids.

Composition

Active ingredients
100 g of cream contain: 5 g benzocaine; 0.5 g hydrocortisone acetate; heparin sodium 5,000.
Excipients
Cetostearyl alcohol, Isopropyl myristate, Propylene glycol, Macrogol cetostearyl ether, Dimethicone, Isothiazolinone, Levomenthol, Disodium EDTA, Butylhydroxyanisole, Purified water.

Directions for use and Dosage

In acute forms, especially after bowel movements, apply the cream 2-3 times a day. Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Warnings

After a short period of treatment, without appreciable results, consult your doctor. Excessive and/or prolonged application of corticosteroids can give rise to generalized reactions from systemic absorption. The use, especially if prolonged, of topical products can give rise to sensitization phenomena. In this case, treatment must be discontinued and appropriate therapy instituted. The efficacy and safety of benzocaine depend on correct dosing; therefore, the smallest amount of the preparation sufficient to achieve the desired effect must be used, applying it with caution to subjects with severely damaged mucous membranes or sites of inflammatory processes that could cause excessive absorption of the active ingredient. Excessive absorption of benzocaine can cause serious reactions, particularly in children and elderly patients. Proctosoll contains propylene glycol. This medicine contains 25 mg of propylene glycol per dose, equivalent to 25 mg/g. Proctosoll contains butylated hydroxyanisole. It may cause localized skin reactions (e.g., contact dermatitis) or irritation to the eyes and mucous membranes. Proctosoll contains cetostearyl alcohol. It may cause localized skin reactions (e.g., contact dermatitis). Keep the medicine out of the reach of children.

Interactions

Particular caution should be observed when using it in conjunction with other anticoagulant treatments.

Side effects

Sometimes local burning sensation, irritation, dry skin, folliculitis, acne eruptions, hypertrichosis, hyperpigmentation and skin atrophy may occur. If any local reactions typical of corticosteroid therapy appear, they can be remedied by suspending the treatment.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

In pregnant women, use should be carried out only if strictly necessary and under the direct supervision of a doctor.
