Medicines authorized by the Ministry of Health
Dermatological cream for the localized treatment of the symptoms of itchy dermatitis, sunburn, and insect bites.
Indications
Polaramin 1% cream helps reduce allergy symptoms by blocking the effects of a substance called "histamine," which is produced by the human body when you are an allergy sufferer.
The cream exerts its antihistamine action directly on the skin, inhibiting redness, burning, and itching. This medicine is used for the local treatment of the symptoms of pruritic dermatitis (skin conditions that cause itching), sunburn (redness characterized by itching, pain, burning sensation and the presence of blisters following excessive exposure to the sun) and insect bites.

Warnings
Polaramin 1% cream is not for ophthalmic use. Polaramin 1% cream is well tolerated, but its use, especially if prolonged, may give rise, as with all topical products, to sensitization phenomena. In this case, suspend treatment and initiate appropriate therapy. Avoid application to very large areas in the presence of abrasions to prevent systemic absorption. If absorbed, it can cause excitability, especially in children. Do not apply to exuding surfaces, open wounds, areas of skin with vesicles, genital organs, or mucous membranes. Exposure of the treated areas to the sun may give rise to photosensitivity phenomena. Discontinue use of Polaramin 1% cream if a burning sensation or rash occurs, or if the original condition persists or irritation develops. Avoid occlusive dressings. The use of antihistamines should be discontinued approximately 48 hours before performing skin tests, as these medicines may prevent or reduce positive reactions. The medicine contains: cetyl alcohol, ethoxylated lanolin esters, methyl p-hydroxybenzoate, which may cause local skin reactions (e.g., contact dermatitis).
