Product Description

Angelini

Analgesic-Anti-inflammatory

Momentact is used for the treatment of pain of various origins and nature and as an adjuvant in the symptomatic treatment of fever and flu.

Dosage and Directions for Use

Momentact Tablets are administered according to the following doses:

  • Adults and children over 12 years: 1 tablet 2-3 times a day.

Do not exceed the dose of 3 capsules per day. If the use of the medicine is necessary for more than 3 days in adolescents, or in the event of worsening symptoms, a doctor must be consulted. Do not exceed the recommended doses: elderly patients in particular should stick to the minimum doses indicated above. Take the product on a full stomach.

Contraindications

  • Do not administer to children under 12 years of age.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  • Hypersensitivity to the active substance, to other antirheumatics or to any of the excipients.
  • Active or severe gastroduodenal ulcer or other gastropathies.
  • History of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation related to previous active treatments or history of recurrent peptic hemorrhage/ulcer.
  • Severe hepatic or renal insufficiency.
  • Severe cardiac insufficiency.

Special warnings

Use with caution in asthmatic patients. The use of the drug is not recommended in women intending to become pregnant. Administration should be suspended in women who have fertility problems or who are undergoing investigation of fertility. Use should be avoided in conjunction with NSAIDs. Undesirable effects may be minimized by using the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary to control symptoms. The use of ibuprofen may be associated with a modest increase in the risk of arterial thrombotic events.

Elderly patients have an increased frequency of adverse reactions to NSAIDs, which can be fatal. Gastrointestinal bleeding, ulceration, and perforation, which can be fatal, have been reported during treatment: these patients should start treatment on the lowest dose available. Concomitant use of protective agents should be considered for these patients and also for patients taking low-dose aspirin or other drugs that may increase the risk of gastrointestinal events.

If gastrointestinal bleeding or ulceration occurs, treatment should be discontinued. It should be administered with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease. Caution is required before initiating treatment in patients with a history of hypertension and/or heart failure. Serious skin reactions, some of them fatal, have been reported: the onset of the reaction occurs in most cases within the first month of treatment. The drug should be discontinued at the first appearance of skin rash, mucosal lesions, or any other sign of hypersensitivity. Contains: sorbitol, ponceau 4R (E124).

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis may adversely affect pregnancy and/or embryo/fetal development. An increased risk of miscarriage and of cardiac malformation and gastroschisis in early pregnancy has been observed. The risk is believed to increase with the dose and duration of therapy. During the third trimester of pregnancy, all prostaglandin synthesis inhibitors may expose the fetus to:

  • cardiopulmonary toxicity,
  • renal dysfunction,
  • possible prolongation of bleeding time at the end of pregnancy,
  • inhibition of uterine contractions resulting in delayed or prolonged labor.

Check the expiry date indicated on the package. The expiry date indicated on the package refers to the product in its intact package, correctly stored.
