Excipients: Glycol and polyethylene glycol stearate; Liquid paraffin; Sodium methyl p-hydroxybenzoate; Sodium propyl p-hydroxybenzoate; Purified water.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or to any of the excipients.

Dosage and Directions for Use

After filling an applicator with cream, administer the cream vaginally by pressing the piston until completely empty, once a day for at least six consecutive days, preferably in the evening before bedtime, or as prescribed by your doctor.

In trichomoniasis, greater certainty of therapeutic results is achieved with the simultaneous use of oral metronidazole in both non-pregnant women and their male partners. For optimal administration, a supine position is recommended, with the legs slightly bent at an angle. For better sterilization, it is preferable to also spread a small amount of Meclon vaginal cream externally, around the vulvar and perianal areas.

If your doctor prescribes prophylactic treatment for your partner, the cream should be applied to the glans penis and foreskin for at least six days.

Warnings and Precautions

Avoid contact with eyes. The recommended concomitant use of oral metronidazole is subject to the contraindications, side effects, and warnings described for the above-mentioned product.

Avoid treatment during menstruation.

Keep this medicine out of the reach and sight of children.

Interactions

Meclon vaginal cream for candidiasis is generally well-tolerated and has no known interactions with other medications.

Side effects

Given the poor absorption of the active ingredients Metronidazole and Clotrimazole following local application, adverse reactions observed with topical formulations are limited to:

Immune system disorders:
Not known (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data): hypersensitivity reactions.
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders:
Very rare (frequency <1/10,000): local irritation such as itching, allergic contact dermatitis, and rashes.

Any adverse effects should prompt discontinuation of treatment.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

During pregnancy, the product should be used only if clearly needed and under the direct supervision of a doctor.
