What is Maalox Plus used for? This drug was created as an adjuvant in gastric hyperacidity, dyspepsia caused by hyperacidity (even in the presence of meteorism) and in the treatment of gastroduodenal ulcers.

Composition

Maalox Plus chewable tablets contain:

Active ingredients

Magnesium hydroxide 200 mg, aluminum hydroxide dry gel 200 mg, dimethicone 25 mg.

Excipients

Corn starch; citric acid; pregelatinized starch; glucose; mannitol; sucrose; sorbitol solution 70%; talc; magnesium stearate; sodium saccharin; lemon flavoring; Swiss cream flavoring; E 172.

Contraindications

State of cachexia.
Hypersensitivity to the components of the product.

Maalox Plus: Dosage and Directions for Use

2-4 tablets can be taken 4 times a day, chewed or sucked well, 20-60 minutes after meals and before bedtime. Their intake can be followed by ingestion of water or milk. Do not exceed the indicated dose unless prescribed by a doctor.

However, in some particularly sensitive individuals and with high doses, an acceleration of intestinal transit may occur. Do not use for prolonged treatment. After a short period of treatment without appreciable results, consult your doctor. The suspension does not contain sugar and can therefore be administered to diabetic and hypertensive patients. The tablets contain sucrose: this is why it is important to consult your doctor. should be taken into account in diabetic patients or in patients following low-calorie diets.

Interactions

It may reduce the gastrointestinal absorption of tetracyclines. It is therefore recommended to avoid taking it during oral tetracycline therapy.
