Characteristics
Iridium A Free is a sterile, preservative-free ophthalmic solution containing hyaluronic acid and Echinacea extract. Its purpose is to protect the corneal epithelium and help increase the biological defenses of the tear film by better stabilizing and preserving its characteristics. Hyaluronic acid is a mucopolysaccharide that is part of numerous tissues in the body. It has the property of adhering to the mucus of the ocular surface, protecting, moistening, and lubricating it. Due to its mucoadhesive properties, it remains on the surface of the eye for a long time and stabilizes the tear film. Echinacea extract contains substances that have been shown to help maintain the immune defenses of the tear film and facilitate the repair processes of the ocular surface. Echinacea extract is also characterized by its hyaluronidase-inhibiting properties. The amino acids L-proline, L-glycine, L-lysine hydrochloride, and L-leucine, contained in the product, increase the lubrication of the ocular surface and can contribute to improving the protection of the epithelia subjected to various types of stress. The absence of preservatives in the solution helps increase the safety of the product and makes it suitable for contact lens wearers.
Directions for use
Instill 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac 2-3 times a day, or as prescribed by your doctor. The product can be used as a general aid in the treatment of ocular irritation. It can be instilled into the eye even when wearing contact lenses or on the inner surface of the contact lens before its application.
