Indications
Ophthalmic solution containing sodium hyaluronate which, thanks to its muco-mimetic and pseudo-plastic properties, distributes uniformly over the ocular surface forming a protective viscoelastic bandage. In this way, by exerting a mechanical action ("barrier effect"), Idroflog stabilizes the tear film and reduces friction caused by eye movements and blinking, protecting the surface of the eye by promoting repair processes resulting from damage to the corneal epithelial cells due to hyposecretion of the tear film. In fact, when the glands responsible for secreting the film reduce their normal activity for various factors, the corneal surface is more exposed to external insults. Over time, these latter cause poor functioning of the corneal epithelial cells with the associated risk of developing bothersome inflammatory processes. The application of the Idroflog dressing protects the corneal surface from external aggressions and, thanks to the ancillary action of hydrocortisone sodium phosphate (a low-dose cortisone agent with low anti-inflammatory potential and short duration of action), helps prevent the risk of recurrence of inflammatory phenomena. Idroflog is intended for limited use and should always be used under the direct supervision of a medical specialist. Finally, Idroflog, thanks to its unique saline composition, restores and maintains physiological concentrations of important ions, such as sodium, potassium, and magnesium, essential for the health of the ocular surface. The device does not contain preservatives.
Composition
Sodium hyaluronate 2 mg/ml, hydrocortisone sodium phosphate 10 mcg/ml, trisodium citrate, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, magnesium chloride, dibasic sodium phosphate, monobasic sodium phosphate, water for injections.
Directions for use
Idroflog must be dosed individually according to your condition and based on the recommendations of your ophthalmologist. In general, instill 1-2 drops of the solution into the conjunctival sac of the eye to be treated, 2-4 times a day. The total duration of treatment is 2-6 months but must be specifically established by the specialist and in any case under his direct supervision (follow-up every 30-45 days is recommended).
How to apply: detach a single vial from the strip. Remove the top flap by twisting it. Instill 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac, dripping from above. Idroflog can also be used while wearing contact lenses.
Warnings
Due to its viscoelastic properties, the product may cause blurred vision upon application. Wait until this effect has worn off before driving or using machinery.
Idroflog is for external use only. It should not be used immediately before administering medicinal products for therapeutic purposes, or within twenty minutes of applying any topical pharmacological therapy. If symptoms worsen during treatment, contact a doctor as soon as possible. Prolonged use may cause side effects: the total duration of treatment must be established by an ophthalmologist. If an inflammatory process is already underway, the specialist will decide on the appropriate anti-inflammatory therapy to restore the physiological conditions of the ocular surface. To reduce the risk of contamination during use, it is advisable to open the aluminum pouch only if the product is to be used immediately after use. Avoid allowing the tip of the vial to come into direct contact with fingers, the eye, or any other surface. In rare cases, slight blurring of vision has been observed upon instillation, which is due to the viscosity of the solution. A slight burning sensation may occur during instillation. This sensation, however, will disappear. Contact your eye doctor if symptoms persist. Following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects. The product is for single use: after the first use, discard the vial, even if it contains any residual solution.

Store at a temperature between 2°C and 25°C.
