Gel treatment useful in cases of thrombophlebitis, phlebitis and hematomas.

Indications

Hirudoid Gel 40,000 IU is a drug that can be used in case of:

• Thrombophlebitis and superficial phlebitis.
• Venous stasis edema.
• Pain, inflammation, edema, trophic disorders in post-phlebitic and varicose states.
• Hematomas.

Composition

Active ingredients

100 of Hirudoid 40,000 gels contain: Glycosaminoglycan polysulfate (M.W. 5700–13700) mg 445 equal to 40,000 IU.
Excipient with known effect: the gel contains propylene glycol.

Excipients

100 of Hirudoid 40,000 gels contain: Isopropanol; propylene glycol; polyacrylic acid; sodium hydroxide; purified water.

Directions for use and Dosage

Unless otherwise prescribed, 3–5 cm of gel 2–3 times a day.
Hirudoid 40,000 IU gel is suitable for use in physiotherapeutic techniques such as iontophoresis and phonophoresis. If used with an iontophoretic technique, it should be applied to the cathode.

Warnings

Hirudoid 40,000 IU gel contains propylene glycol which may cause irritation. cause skin irritation.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active substance, to a heparinoid or to any of the excipients.
