Laxative

Glicerolo Carlo Erba is used in the short-term treatment of occasional constipation.

Dosage and method of use

Glicerolo Carlo Erba is administered according to the following doses

• Children aged between 2 and 11 years: 1 suppository as needed, for a maximum of 1 or 2 administrations per day

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
• Acute abdominal pain or pain of unknown origin,
• Nausea or vomiting
• Intestinal obstruction or stenosis
• Rectal bleeding of unknown origin
• Acute haemorrhoidal crisis with pain and bleeding
• Severe dehydration.

Special warnings

Laxatives should be used as infrequently as possible and for no more than seven days. Use for longer periods of time requires a doctor's prescription after adequate evaluation of the individual case. The treatment of chronic or recurrent constipation always requires medical intervention for diagnosis, prescription of medications, and monitoring during therapy.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

No adequate and well-controlled studies have been conducted on the use of the medicine during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Although there are no obvious contraindications to the use of the medicine during pregnancy and breastfeeding, it is recommended to take the medicine only when necessary and under medical supervision.

Expiry and storage

Check the expiry date indicated on the package. The expiry date indicated on the package refers to the product in its intact packaging, stored correctly. Store in the original package to protect from moisture and away from direct sources of heat.

Warning: Do not use the medicine after the expiry date shown on the package.
