Geffer Granules For Nausea and Digestion; Orange Flavor

Geffer Granules are used in the symptomatic treatment of hyperacidity (heartburn and pain), when accompanied by slowed gastric transit, nausea, aerophagia, and flatulence.

Dosage and Directions for Use

Geffer Granules should be taken in the following doses and directions: 1 sachet in half a glass of water before meals or when symptoms arise, 2-3 times a day. Do not exceed the recommended doses: elderly patients in particular should stick to the minimum doses indicated above. The use of the product is restricted to adult patients.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to any of the active substances or excipients.
• Patients suffering from glaucoma, pheochromocytoma, epileptic disease, Parkinson's disease and other established extrapyramidal conditions or undergoing therapy with anticholinergics.
• Cases in which the stimulation of intestinal motility could prove dangerous, for example in the presence of gastrointestinal haemorrhage, perforation, mechanical obstruction.
• Patients suffering from Porphyria.
• Children under 16 years of age.
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Special warnings

Avoid the concomitant administration of neuroleptics, phenothiazines, Butyrophenones, thioxanthenes, etc., sedatives, and alcohol. Use of the product may cause disturbances that alter normal alertness; patients driving vehicles or operating potentially dangerous machinery should take this into account.

After a maximum of 3 days of treatment without appreciable results, consult a doctor. Elderly patients should not exceed 3 days of consecutive treatment and
should stick to the minimum dosages indicated. One sachet of Geffer contains 287 mg (12.5 mmol) of sodium: of this amount, 100 mg (12.5 mmol) of sodium is used. take this into account in case of hypertension and in all situations that require controlled sodium intake (patients with congestive heart failure, renal failure, nephrotic syndrome, etc.).

The product contains sucrose, therefore patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption, or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency should not take this medicine. The sucrose content is 2.95 g per sachet: this must be taken into account in case of diabetes or low-calorie diets.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

The product should not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Active ingredient: metoclopramide hydrochloride 5 mg, dimethicone 50 mg, potassium citrate 94.45 mg, citric acid 670 mg, tartaric acid 152 mg, sodium bicarbonate 1050 mg
Excipients: Orange flavouring, sucrose.
