Characteristics

Farmactive Alginate is a sterile calcium alginate dressing with carboxymethylcellulose in tablet or tape form. It is used for the treatment of moderately to heavily exuding skin lesions such as pressure sores, venous ulcers, diabetic ulcers, skin graft sites, and traumatic wounds.

The alginate dressing, in contact with wound exudate, forms a soft, biocompatible gel that maintains an optimal moist microenvironment for healing. The exchange between exudate and dressing transforms the alginate into a soft gel that can be easily absorbed. Can be removed easily without leaving residue.
